March 23, 2022, Alejandro Zuniga, 33, of Los Angeles was killed by a construction train at the future site of the Wilshire/La Brea Station on LA Metro’s Purple Line Extension Project. Zuniga was a contractor working on the project at the time of his death.
Los Angeles Fire Department was called just after 4:50 pm to the project site after receiving reports of a person stuck under a train. LA Metro is working with officials from all regulatory agencies to gather information and investigate what occurred.
