Before 8:00 AM Wednesday, February 2, 63–year–old Gina Kay Cunningham of Fontanelle Court, San Jose, was taking her trash down to the street and was struck by a California Waste Solutions truck. According to San Jose police, Ms. Cunningham may have run into the driver’s blind spot. She succumbed to massive multiple blunt force injuries to her torso. 

This is the 8th pedestrian death in San Jose car accidents in 2022, and the 11th total fatality. In 2021, the same mark was not reached until June.
