On Friday morning, April 1, two people were killed in a Williamson County crash that involved a pickup truck and a semi.
According to Illinois State Police, the crash occurred around 9:10 am. A semi, driven by Darrin Bramlet, 56, of Raliegh, was traveling south on Illinois 37 at the intersection of Illinois 148. Bramlet had stopped at the stop sign at this intersection, and when he attempted to turn left onto Illinois 148, he failed to yield to Nicholas Strum, 34, of Kewanee, Illinois. Strum was traveling west at the same intersection and did not have a stop sign.
Strum and his passenger, Robin Sides, 36, of Evansville, Indiana, were both pronounced deceased at the scene.
